Disseminated intravascular coagulation: epidemiology, biomarkers, and management
نویسندگان
چکیده
Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is a systemic activation of the system, which results in microvascular thrombosis and, simultaneously, potentially life-threatening haemorrhage attributed to consumption platelets and factors. Underlying conditions, e.g. infection, cancer, or obstetrical complications are responsible for initiation propagation DIC process. This review provides insights into epidemiology current understanding its pathophysiology. It details use diagnostic biomarkers, recommendations from international medical societies, it an overview emerging prognostic biomarkers. Last, guidance on management. concluded that timely accurate diagnosis underlying condition essential prognosis. Treatment should primarily focus cause supportive treatment be individualised according aetiology, patient’s symptoms laboratory records.

Supportive management strategies for disseminated intravascular coagulation
Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is a syndrome characterised by the systemic activation of blood coagulation, which generates intravascular fibrin leading to thrombosis of smalland medium-sized vessels and eventually contributes to organ dysfunction (1). In addition, the consumption of platelets and coagulation factors may predispose patients with DIC to haemorrhagic complications. ...

The diagnosis of disseminated intravascular coagulation associated with intracranial pathology is discussed. This pathological entity is characterized by a diffuse bleeding diathesis. Laboratory studies suggest a consumption of all clotting and fibrinolytic factors with an elevation of fibrin split products as a sign of the fibrinolytic activity. The treatment consists of the administration of ...
